01/05/06 - The first track off of Nail has been added to our myspace site...enjoy! www.myspace.com/throttlerod 01/03/06 - Hope everyone had a good and safe Christmas and New Year's. We'd first like to let everyone know that our new record, Nail, has been shipped off to manufacturing and will be available soon. Right now, it's looking like a March or April release date. We'll let you know. In the meantime, we have a few shows coming up to kick off the new year, including one this weekend with Jucifer. Moving on to some unfortunate and very sad news...we'd like to let everyone know that Ground Zero (Spartanburg, SC) co-owner and friend, Jim Minchow, died on December 21, 2005 after a 2+ year long battle with cancer. We have known him for over 10 years and will miss him dearly... 10/08/05 - It's been a while since the last update, but the band has been busy recording the new album and recovering from the last tour. A couple of things to pass along: Throttlerod's track, "In the Flood" was included on the recent PS2 / X Box game Big Mutha Truckers II and 4 of the bands tracks were used in the recent Hockey 2K6 game (which apparently is a really incredible game). 08/30/05 - August was a big month for Throttlerod. First off, endless thanks to Isabelle's Gift. In case you've been living under a rock, we just toured the east coast with them. Aside from the fact that they are 5 of the best guys around, they were nothing short of inspiring to share a bill with. Watch out for their album on Universal Records coming early 2006. Also, very special thanks to the best roadie we could've asked for, Josh Coats. Speaking of albums, we just recording most of the new Throttlerod album in Brooklyn, NY. Forget everything you thought you knew about Throttlerod, this is really something special. Our first record as a three-piece is undoubtedly the best stuff any of us have ever been a part of. I guess I shouldn't give too much away just yet, but get ready for something you won't expect. It's noisier, more raw, more honest...you'll see. Song titles are (in no particular order and minus one unnamed song): Prizefighter, Stand 'em Up, Big Name, Horse Paw, Nail, Indian Head, Rabbit, Stuntman, Teething, and Shovel. The album should be completely finished by the end of September. Expect an early 2006 release. 07/15/05 - August tour dates are finalized, so head to the tour section and make your plans now! The band will heading out in a few weeks to do 11 shows in 11 days and then head straight to Brooklyn to record the new album with Andrew Schneider in his fancy new studio. 07/01/05 - The website is undergoing a facelift, so please bear with us for a few days. Throttlerod is playing 1 more show in Richmond, VA before we head out on tour and into the studio. This show is being put on by Richmond's Y101 and will also be recorded for an upcoming compilation CD. Details to come. Have a safe 4th of July weekend! 05/30/05 - Happy Memorial day! God bless America! 05/23/05 - First and foremost, endless thanks to Y101 for putting us on their 4th annual Y101 Birthday Bash. The bands, the crowd (especially the crowd), and the drinks were amazing. Special thanks to Special Ed, Fletcher, Angie, and everyone else at the station and Sam Ash (whose names currently escape me) who have supported us over the past couple of months. Thanks for giving us a shot. Also, special thanks to our roadie, Thomas. Pictures will be up soon. 04/28/05 - Throttlerod are the new Y101 Rock-Off Champions!! I don't know about you, but my faith in radio has been restored. The mere fact that Y101 would take a chance on a band like us as opposed to going with an immediately marketable band says a lot about that station. Also, thanks to Sam Ash for the $1000 worth of gear!!! 04/22/05 - Throttlerod will be playing next Wednesday (4/27) in the Y101 Rock-Off FINALS. If you are anywhere near Richmond, please come out and support us. Again, we have the chance to win gear from Sam Ash and, more importantly, open this year's Y101 Birthday Bash. This Wednesday might be a good time to debut a new song. Who knows. 03/06/05 - Lots of news from the Throttlerod Headquarters. First, we'll be heading down to SXSW for 2 shows starting on St. Patrick's Day. Just what we need another excuse to drink! Secondly, we are participating in this year's Y101 Rock-Off. Yeah, we know we said we'd never do a "battle of the bands," because they're pretty cheesy. However, this one's a bit different. It's put on by Y101 in Richmond who supports local music better and more sincerely than most. Also, the winner gets a chance to play the Y101 Birthday Bash in front of thousands of people. We play on 3/30, so make plans now! Thirdly, we're playing an important show on 4/15 in SC. That entire weekend will be devoted to helping our friend, Jim Minchow, raise enough money for a bone marrow transplant. Don't miss this weekend!! The benefit will go on for 2 days and you'll want to make sure you come out for the 15th and 16th...you never know whose ex-band(s) will be doing a 1 time only reunion that night. Lastly, Throttlerod will be featured on yet another video game set to be released in July/August of 2005: Big Mutha Truckers II. Yessir! Almost forgot...recording got pushed back a few months, but we promise that we will be heading into the studio with Andrew Schneider this August to record our follow-up to Hell and High Water. 01/27/05 - First of all, here's a long over due Happy New Year to everyone. Thanks for all the support you showed in 2004! We have a lot coming up in 2005, including a new album. Secondly, we found out last week that "Marigold" is going to be on the ESPN Major League Baseball 2K5 video game. Damn right.
